Tag

Hi there!  After several days with temperatures in the 70s, today is windy and cold with a temperature in the low 40s.  It is supposed to hit 70 again midweek and then back to the 40s at the end of the week.  What kind of a season is this?

Today, I have a tag to share which I really enjoyed making.  Using a tag cut from a cereal box as a base, I covered both sides with paper from Lemoncraft's House of Roses.  It is a beautiful collection.  Next, I layered a Prima doily and various lace appliques and trims.  A vintage photo was placed in a resin frame and surrounded with flowers from my stash.  The leaves were cut with another Prima die.  The butterflies were fussy cut from the paper.  The "For You" embellishment is part of the collection.  A strip of pearls and pink ribbon finish the tag.

Here is a view of the tag from another angle.  I love the pretty colors of this tag.  With Spring in the air, it certainly is ideal to welcome the season.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and for all the good wishes on my new job assignment.  It was a bit stressful this past week but I'm hoping that things will work out well soon.  I hope the new week ahead is a wonderful one for you.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Same Image, Two Different Ways Cards

Hi everyone!  Spring has arrived here even though it's not due for another month.  We've had an extremely mild winter, much to my disappointment!  Not liking this climate change thing.

Today, I have two cards to share using the same My Besties stamped image.  These cards were for Valentine's Day but, with no sentiment, could easily be used for any occasion.

Both cards use papers from Recollections and the My Besties Blue Jean Baby image which was colored with Copic markers.  The base is white cardstock with the pattern paper matted in red cardstock and placed on top.  The oval shape for the image was done with a Tim Holtz die.  A Spellbinders diecut heart was placed under the oval as well as some pretty laces in white and red.  Flowers are Recollections.  The red bow is from my stash.

My next card is done in a similar fashion.  This time, I tore the paper and distressed the edges around the image.  Liquid Pearls were added around the image.  The sentiment and enamel dots are Recollections.  The red bow was made with a die from Our Daily Bread Designs.  A piece of lace trim was added across the bottom.  If you changed the sentiment on this card, it also could be used for any other occasion.

Well, that's all for me today.  I intend to relax the rest of the day.  Tomorrow begins the new changes in my job status.  I did have a little training last week and am trying not to let it overwhelm me.  Breathe and relax, I tell myself!  lol  Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead.  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and for your kind comments.

To My Love Card

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I have a sweet card to share with you using an image from Blue Fern Studios.

The card began with a white cardstock base followed by a layer of pink cardstock and then pattern paper on top.  The beautiful diecut heart is from Memory Box and was a gift from a dear friend.  Tiny lace trim from Joann's edges the sweet image.  Lace trims were also added across the bottom of the card.  The fabric flower with dangles in the upper right corner was also a gift.  Flowers from Recollections and a hemp bow add the final touch.

This card came together very quickly and I am happy with the results.  I love that Memory Box heart die and need to find it for my collection!

After a week that saw record-breaking warm temperatures followed the next day by a couple of inches of snow, today is a rainy, raw day.  Good day to stay indoors and relax!  Big changes for me at work which I'm trying to not stress about.  Praying for a positive outcome.  I do tend to worry so, thank goodness, I have my crafting which takes my mind off things.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by.  I appreciate each of your kind comments.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Valentine Pocket Wall Hanging and Two Tags

With Valentine's Day coming up soon, I have been working on various projects for the occasion.  Today, I have a pocket wall hanging and two tags to share with you that began from a simple heart template.  There are a lot of photos to share, so let's begin.

Cutting the heart shape from a cereal box, I covered both sides with Pion Design's To My Valentine papers.  A piece of lace fabric was glued to form the pocket.  Using various trimmings, roses, rhinestones and seam binding, I decorated the front side.

Here is the back which I finished off with a pearl trim and a tiny bow and charm,

Here is the finished wall hanging holding two tags also made from the same Pion Design paper collection.  Each tag is shown below.

After covering both sides of the tag with the pretty papers, I layered a doily, fussy cut roses, cheesecloth, a sweet cherub image and a butterfly from the collection onto the tag.  A piece of heart trim was placed at the bottom.  Roses from my stash and a piece of seam binding were next added.  Liquid Pearls and Stickles add finishing touches.

This tag was done similarly to the first.  Papers and tag image are again Pion.  I added roses to the hearts and a sentiment cut from the papers.

Well, there is my first Valentine project for the holiday.  I made this for a swap and had a lot of fun working on it.  It came together much easier than I thought it would.

If you hung in this far, thank you so much.  I hope you enjoyed this project.  I appreciate your visit and the sweet comments you leave.  Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!
